Debby Gunter maintains an active litigation practice through which she represents a wide variety of clients proficiently across an array of legal fields. Ms. Gunter has extensive experience in commercial disputes, personal injury and wrongful death, employment litigation defense, insurance defense, breach of contract, trademark infringement, construction defect and property disputes, among a number of other areas of law. In addition to this legal experience, Ms. Gunter also serves as local counsel for clients involved in patent litigation cases in the Eastern District of Texas. Through her significant skills and accumulated successes, Ms. Gunter adds yet another layer of confident and accomplished litigation experience to Findlay Craft. In fact, since she began practicing law, her practice has consisted solely of trial work.

Ms. Gunter was born and raised in Tyler, Texas, and she has deep roots within the community, as well as an understanding of life in East Texas and the people who call it home. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications, Ms. Gunter worked in the television news and advertising industry before deciding to attend law school. In 1999, she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston and began her career in litigation in Houston, before returning to her hometown.



Ms. Gunter was awarded Smith County Outstanding Young Lawyer in 2011 and is active in her profession, as well as in the community. Ms. Gunter has served on the Board of Directors and in leadership positions within the legal community with the Smith County Bar Association, the Smith County Young Lawyers Association and the Smith County Bar Women’s Section. Additionally, Ms. Gunter gives her time and energy to support the causes of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County and The Women’s Fund. She was a participant in the 2014-2015 Leadership Tyler Class.
